Day 02

Today Start with a mid-day visit 2 Portuguese royal residences on a full-day tour from Lisbon. Head to Queluz and visit its Rococo palace, then visit UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sintra to tour the Romanticist Pena Palace and its luxurious park.

Just a short drive from Lisbon you will find Queluz, a small village near Sintra, where you will enjoy a guided visit to the Rococo-style Queluz Palace and gardens. Then it's time to head to the lovely UNESCO World Heritage-listed town of Sintra, known for its gardens, palaces, and chalets. A stroll around town will be your first contact with this fairytale-like place. At lunchtime, you'll remain in the town center. You can choose the option with lunch if you wish to have your meal included in the tour price. Otherwise, you will have free time in the center of Sintra to enjoy its many shops, cafes, and restaurants. On this full-day bus trip, your Sintra experience could not be complete without a visit to the amazing Pena Palace. To get there you will go through Pena Park up to the mountain top, admiring the luscious green scenery along the way. Lisbon to Faro

Arrive at Faro station and transfer from Faro station to Faro Hotel. Faro is the capital of southern Portugal’s Algarve region. The city’s neoclassical Arco da Vila is on the site of a gate that was part of the original Moorish wall. The monumental archway leads to the old town, with its cobbled streets. Nearby is Faro Cathedral, built in the 13th century. The Municipal Museum, in a 16th-century convent, displays prehistoric and medieval artifacts, plus religious art.

Faro - Seville

Seville is the capital city of Andalusia. Located in the South of Spain, Seville, or Sevilla in Spanish, is one of the largest Spanish cities occupying the valley of the Guadalquivir river. The city of Seville is famous worldwide for its culture, monuments, traditions and artistic heritage. Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is a Mediterranean and cosmopolitan city with Roman remains, medieval quarters and the most beautiful examples of 20th century Modernism and avant-garde. It is no surprise that emblematic constructions by the Catalan architects Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Doménech Montaner have been declared World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO. Along narrow streets, with secluded squares and charming corners, you will find a series of civil and religious Gothic constructions. Built on the site of the former Palace of the Hapsburgs, the Royal Palace was the official residence of the Spanish monarchy from 1765 to 1931. This official visit includes the State Rooms, Charles III’s Chambers, Museums, the Royal Chapel and the Chambers of Isabel II. Then during the scenic tour, you'll get to see the most important and representative buildings and monuments of Madrid, including the beautiful quarters of Madrid of the Hapsburgs and Madrid of the Bourbons. We will also visit monuments from the time of the reign of Joseph Bonaparte in the 19th century including the elegant Plaza de Oriente and the Prado Museum.

Barcelona - City tour with boat trip

After Breakfast proceeds to start the tour by climbing onboard this open-top double-decker bus and prepare yourself for a magical journey through history, art and culture. Design your own tour by hopping off whenever you fancy or when a particularly outstanding landmark catches your eye.

Pass by Gaudi’s best pieces and marvel at their intricate designs and beauty, let your jaw drop as we cruise by La Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. Admire the Spanish Renaissance inspired Palau Nacional, see its neo-baroque towers and imposing dome as it rules over Avinguda de la Reina Maria Christina. Ride up to the highest mountain in the Serra de Collserola range, Tibidabo. Enjoy its impressive views that look out over the coast and city. The summit of this mountain range is home to the Sagrat Cor church and an amusement park. A lovely little escape from the rush of modern life.
